Opening this week are Secret Life of Pets 2 and Dark Phoenix. Pets 2 comes three years after the first installment and looks to be a significant step down as far as box-office goes. It might struggle to do half of what the first film did domestically, especially with Toy Story 4 opening in 2 weeks. Dark Phoenix feels like a big whimper for the out-going franchise, as the last installments (minus Logan) have been met with increasing "meh" reactions and diminishing grosses. Late Night opens this weekend in select city before expanding wide next weekend.
