God's Not Dead 2 arrives. So...that's a thing that is happening. The only other new opener is Meet the Blacks, which will debut in just over a thousand theaters. I've seen some ads on TV and I guess it's a Purge parody. Eye In the Sky and Hello My Name Is Doris both expand wide. Both have doing well, and while neither will break out they'll make enough to satisfy the studios. I Saw the Light is also expanding wide, but that has bad reviews and did nothing last weekend in limited. Midnight Special was supposed to go wide this weekend, but it's only getting a small expansion after falling a bit in its second week in limited. Everybody Wants Some opens in a handful of theaters and will expand later in the month. That might be a mini-breakout. Lots of well reviewed films out right now!

I'm still maintaining that Deadpool will just barely outgross Batman Vs. Superman.
