The epic smackdown you've been waiting years for and then dreading once you heard Zack Snyder is involved arrives. The hype is huge, the reviews are dismal. I'm one of the few playing it safe, and when that happens I usually end up wrong. Even if it goes higher, I don't think legs will be there at all and I'm predicting Deadpool will end up outgrossing it. That's quite something. Anyways, it's still fantastic that three films released before April will gross more than $300m. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 hopes to provide some counter-programming. The first film was a complete anomaly of a blockbuster that was almost completely forgotten after the TV show flopped. The sequel will be helped by being one of the only genuine comedies of late. Hello My Name Is Doris did well in its expansion last weekend, and with a nice increase in theaters will make the top 10. Eye In the Sky is also doing really well. Get it, Sally Field and Helen Mirren. Maybe they need to be the superheroes who face off. Allegiant flopped last weekend, and now the studio has no clue what to do with the next installment. Lesson to studios: STOP SPLITTING FINAL INSTALLMENTS IN TWO.
