Box: Katie Holmes As Adam Sandler's Love Interest....

...while in a few weeks, Michelle Williams is playing Marilyn Monroe. Food for thought.

1. Jack and Jill - $25m / $25m / $85m
2. Puss In Boots - $21.5m / $105m / $170m
3. Immortals - $18m / $18m / $55m
4. Tower Heist - $13.5m / $44m / $75m
5. J. Edgar - $12m / $12m / $40m
6. Very Harold and Kumar Christmas - $6m / $23.5m / $38m
7. In Time - $4m / $30.5m / $40m
8. Paranormal Activity 3 - $4m / $101m / $110m
9. Footloose - $2.5m / $48.5m / $54m
10. Real Steel - $2m / $81.5m / $86m

J.Edgar will probably do about the same as Changeling and Invictus. I seem to be higher on Jack and Jill and lower on Immortals than everyone else. Sandler is a fairly reliable box office draw. The PG-rating reminds me of Fred Claus, which opened four years ago and did just under $100 million. Puss In Boots had a terrific 3% drop last week, and should see a drop of around 35% this weekend. Those drops will steepen in the coming weeks given the storm of kids and family movies taking over Thanksgiving.
