Watch the Golden Globes!

The 78th Golden Globes air on NBC Sunday February 28th at 8PM Eastern, with an hour long special starting an hour before. I guess I can't call that and E!'s coverage (which starts at 4PM) a "red carpet special" because most of it will be virtual. The vast majority of nominees will be from remote locations, hopefully at home in their designer pajamas. The ceremony sounds like it will be a mix of what the Emmys did with more presenters in-house.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will co-host, their fourth time doing so. Fey will be in New York City's Rainbow Room, while Poehler will be where the event is typically held - The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Sounds like a risky endeavor, but it will probably add to the show's usual craziness.

Scheduled presenters include Anthony Anderson, Awkwafina, Kevin Bacon, Angela Bassett, Sterling K. Brown, Jamie Lee Curtis, Laura Dern, Michael Douglas, Ava Duvernay, Cynthia Erivo, Colin Farrell, Gal Gadot, Tiffany Haddish, Salma Hayek, Bryce Dallas Howard, Kate Hudson, Christopher Meloni, Tracy Morgan, Annie Mumolo, Sandra Oh, Sarah Paulson, Rosie Perez, Joaquin Phoenix, Margot Robbie, Kyra Sedgwick, Amanda Seyfried, Christian Slater, Ben Stiller, Justin Theroux, Kenan Thompson, Susan Kelechi Watson, Kristen Wiig, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Renee Zellweger.

Jane Fonda will be receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award, while Norman Lear will be getting the Carol Burnett Award.

The Globes are no strangers to controversy, and this year the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has been exposed as having not a single black member for the past two decades. (While there's also the accusations of bribes and some shady dealings behind the scenes, this had been known about the organization for decades.) The HFPA has vowed to add more members of color, and it looks like Hollywood plans to hold them to that.

But the bribes will go on, of course.

Have fun watching the Globes!
