SAG Thoughts

Film:
Supp. Actor - 4/5 (+alt)
Supp. Actress - 3/5
Lead Actor - 3/5
Lead Actress - 4/5 (+alt)
Ensemble - 2/5
16/25 = 64%

TV:
Limited Actor - 4/5
Limited Actress - 3/5
Male Comedy - 3/5 (+alt)
Female Comedy - 3/5
Ensemble Comedy - 4/5
Male Drama - 1/5
Female Drama - 3/5
Ensemble Drama - 3/5 (+alt)
24/40 = 60%

40/65 = 61.5%
(The worst I've ever done since doing both Film and Television.)

So, Parasite is the big winner of the morning, while Dolemite Is My Name and (maybe) Little Women are the big losers. Hard to figure if the latter is a screener/late release issue or if the film will just not do well outside cinephile circles. Parasite is apparently the first Foreign Language film to get in to Ensemble Cast since Life Is Beautiful 21 years ago. (Really, no Crouching Tiger, SAG?) Can't overstate how huge it is it got in here. It means it can absolutely be a threat for Best Picture at the Oscars.

Bombshell was big with actors. Shoulda known. They eat this Jay Roach shit up like its candy.

De Niro misses yet again, but he is getting their big award. I'm starting to think if Egerton gets BAFTA, he's probably in for Oscar. He's campaigned like crazy, and he has Elton working with him.

I guess Nicole Kidman is that WTF SAG-only nom. She also now seems to be in that place where they'll nominate her for whatever as she got 3 noms total today.

The TV noms are overall bad. Sorta. They feel back to what SAG used to do where they don't stop nominating certain things while ignoring others (Succession, Billy Porter for example). They gave up Veep surprisingly.

And OMG I hate myself for buying into that Maggie Smith nom!?!?!?
