Box: After seeing the Cats trailer, I'm ready for another movie about the inner monologue of a dog.

1. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - $196m
As always, an exciting time at the box-office with something for everyone. Starting off is the end of the Star Wars franchise (I think?). The overload of this franchise has led to some diminishing returns at the box-office, and reviews for the finale are mixed. Still, it should open in the high one hundreds, if not just missing $200m. As for a potential total domestic, it's probably close to what The Last Jedi did - about $650m.

2. Jumanji: The Next Level $30m
This opened stronger than anticipated, so the drop between the first and second might not be too big. It'll be past $100m over this coming weekend. Can it be at $200m by New Year's Day? A total of $275-300m is in the cards.

3. Cats - $12m
This one should be interesting. Reviews are terrible, but how fast can it be a camp classic? If audiences don't bite, it will probably only get to around $40m.

4. Frozen 2 - $9.4m
It'll pass the domestic gross of the first film, but not by much. By the end of this weekend, it'll be at about $385m. Around $425m looks about where this finishes.

5. Bombshell - $5.9m
Like last year's Vice, I don't think there will be much interest in this among wide audiences. That did $48m domestic, but it had a stronger awards run. I'd say this does $25-30m.

6. Knives Out - $4.4m
The holidays will help this get to $100m. A very nice end of the year surprise!

7. Richard Jewell - $2.2m
So this flat out bombed last weekend. At this point, crossing $20m looks like it won't happen.

8. Ford Vs. Ferrari - $1.9m
Crossing $100m tomorrow, I really thought after that opening weekend and A+ from Cinemscore that this would go further. It's a solid number, though.

9. Queen and Slim - $1.7m
Budgeted in the high teens, this will finish with about $40m domestic. Another solid win.

10. Black Christmas - $1.6m
Well, it was cheap. It won't even outgross the 2006 installment. Probably $10m total, as it will fall off after the 25th. Most theaters are already dropping it after Christmas Eve.

***A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood - $1.6m
It'll finish with about $60m, which is fine. It only cost $25m. Still, it feels like this had way more potential.
