Midway scored an upset last weekend, while Doctor Sleep disappointed. (Given the way people were reacting, you'd forget the Stephen King sequel only cost $45m.) Playing With Fire did decently, while Last Christmas did okay. This weekend sees the arrival of 3 films. Ford Vs. Ferrari will hopefully score an easy victory. It's an expensive film, so legs and overseas numbers will need to be strong. Films aimed at adults seem to be doing strongly, which might benefit another opener - The Good Liar. The last opener is the Elizabeth Bank-helmed Charlie's Angels reboot. It surprisingly only cost just under $50m. Tracking has been poor and Sony has really not done the best with marketing. Reviews are okay, but test screening reactions show audience response might be more favorable. Outside the top 10, Parasite and Jojo Rabbit continue to impress. The former is at $12m, which is fantastic for a foreign film. Jojo is at $10m
