Good Boys did much better than I anticipated last weekend, and thank goodness for that. It's opening was a big win for both comedies and original films. It could potentially three-peat, depending on how many people are into that Gerard Butler franchise. Also opening is Overcomer, which is about a man who ejacu....actually it's from the creators of Fireproof and War Room. The latter did robust business at the end of summer 2015, so it's hard to gage where this one will land. Opening today with very solid reviews is the horror/comedy Ready Or Not. It did bigger than I expected Tuesday preview numbers. Fingers are crossed for it, as it would be nice to have three well reviewed original films in the top 10 during summer's last days.
