Okay, so first off WHY IS THIS AWARD SHOW BEING DELAYED FOR 6 HOURS?!?! People in the UK have to wait 2 hours to watch it, too. Seems to be a lot of complaining about that, and I remember the days when this show would actually air live on BBC America in the middle of the afternoon. Come on, people! Get your shit together. I think the delay and being so edited really sucks the life out of it not just because we know the winners ahead. They do pretty decent clip packages for this show. I have no clue how Joanna Lumley did as host because her opening and intros felt like they may have been edited out.
There were lots of stars at this event, it felt more A-list than what it typically does. I wasn't aware they were doing the red carpet black out, too. Nice black fashions again. It's weird that Duchess Kate isn't allowed to participate. Brits!
Nice speeches, especially Kaluuya. Probably the best one of the night. Ridley Scott kind of seems like an asshole, his speech was just a bunch of rambling.
I guess it helps there's still some races in the technical categories. Maybe. Picture might be suspenseful until the end, but I'm starting to think Three Billboards can actually take it. We'll see. We still have two weeks to go, and those are loooong weeks as voting starts Tuesday and we're going to see a lot of thinkpieces (and hitpieces) coming out. I can't believe it won British Film. Ugh.
