Globe Winner Predix!

DirecTV and NBC are in a contract dispute or some shit so as of right now I don't have NBC. I may have to resort to extreme measures for the second year in a row to watch these. (Last year, a random power outage occurred an hour and a half before the red carpet started.) What is happening? My luck has gone to shit. Someone somewhere doesn't want me to watch the Globes.

Last year, I also did really bad in my predictions. Like, worst ever for a major award show. They really went their own way last year.

TV:

Supporting Actor:
Brown - Laurie - Lithgow - Slater - Travolta
WINNER: Sterling K. Brown - The People Vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story
alt: Hugh Laurie

Supporting Actress:
Colman - Heady - Metz - Moore - Newton
WINNER: Thandie Newton - Westworld
alt: Lena Headey

Actress - Movie/Limited Series:
Huffman - Keough - Paulson - Rampling - Washington
WINNER: Sarah Paulson - The People Vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story
alt: Riley Keough

Actor - Movie/Limited Series:
Ahmed - Cranston - Hiddleston - Turturro - Vance
WINNER: Riz Ahmed - The Night Of
alt: Tom Hiddleston

Movie/Limited Series:
American Crime - The Dresser - The Night Manager - The Night Of - The People Vs. OJ Simpson
WINNER: The People Vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story
alt: The Night Manager

Actor - Comedy/Musical Series:
Anderson - Bernal - Glover - Notle - Tambor
WINNER: Donald Glover - Atlanta
alt: Jeffrey Tambor

Actress - Comedy/Musical Series:
Bloom - Louis-Dreyfus - Parker - Rae - Rodriguez - Ross
WINNER: Sarah Jessica Parker - Divorced
alt: Issa Rae
Poor JLD will never win.

Comedy/Musical Series:
Atlanta - Blackish - Mozart in the Jungle - Transparent - Veep
WINNER: Atlanta
alt: Veep

Actor - Drama Series:
Malek - Odenkirk - Rhys - Schreiber - Thornton
WINNER: Rami Malek - Mr. Robot
alt: Matthew Rhys
I think Rami wins just because he didn't last year.

Actress - Drama Series:
Balfe - Foy - Russell - Ryder - Wood
WINNER: Winona Ryder - Stranger Things
alt: Claire Foy
I think a case could be made for any of them winning.

Drama Series:
The Crown - Game of Thrones - Stranger Things - This Is Us - Westworld
WINNER: Westworld
alt: The Crown
Again, any of these could win.

MOVIES!

Foreign Language Film:
Divines - Elle - Neruda - The Salesman - Toni Erdmann
WINNER: Toni Erdmann
alt: Elle

Animated Film:
Kubo and the Two Strings - Moana - My Life as a Zucchini - Sing - Zootopia
WINNER: Zootopia
alt: Moana

Original Song:
Gold - La La Land - Moana - Sing - Trolls
WINNER: "How Far I'll Go" - Moana
alt: "Can't Stop the Feeling" - Trolls
Why do I think LLL is losing this? It's rare for films to win more than four awards here. In fact, I believe it's only happened 2 or 3 times.

Original Score:
Arrival - Hidden Figures - La La Land - Lion - Moonlight
WINNER: La La Land
alt: Arrival
This is tough. I think Arrival can win because it's been disqualified at the Oscars, and sometimes the Globes roll like that.

Screenplay:
Hell Or High Water - La La Land - Manchester by the Sea - Moonlight - Nocturnal Animals
WINNER: Manchester by the Sea
alt: Moonlight
This is tough. I can see Hell winning, too.

Supporting Actor:
Ali - Bridges - Helberg - Patel - Taylor-Johnson
WINNER: Mahershala Ali - Moonlight
alt: Jeff Bridges
Jeff has a shot at upsetting, but Ali is Moonlight's best chance at a win.

Supporting Actress:
Davis - Harris - Kidman - Spencer - Williams
WINNER: Viola Davis - Fences
alt: Michelle Williams
I think Davis is safe.

Actor - Comedy/Musical:
Farrell - Gosling - Grant - Hill - Reynolds
WINNER: Ryan Gosling - La La Land
alt: Ryan Reynolds
Oh god. The meltdowns if Reynolds wins...

Actress - Comedy/Musical:
Bening - Collins - Steinfeld - Stone - Streep
WINNER: Emma Stone - La La Land
alt: Meryl Streep
I'd say there is no alternate, but never deny Meryl here even if she is getting a special award.

Actor - Drama:
Affleck - Edgerton - Garfield - Mortensen - Washington
WINNER: Casey Affleck - Manchester by the Sea
alt: Denzel Washington
If the race is going to shift to Denzel, it'll start here.

Actress - Drama:
Adams - Chastain - Huppert - Negga - Portman
WINNER: Natalie Portman - Jackie
alt: Amy Adams
This is probably settled, unless Huppert surprises.

Director:
Chazelle - Ford - Gibson - Jenkins - Lonergan
WINNER: Damien Chazelle - La La Land
alt: Barry Jenkins
Maybe Tom Ford's bribery will pay off. Oh, the meltdowns and think pieces if Gibson wins...

Picture - Comedy/Musical:
20th Century Women - Deadpool - Florence Foster Jenkins - La La Land - Sing Street
WINNER: La La Land
No alt.
In the end, I'm predicting LLL to take 5 awards. The most ever in over 35 years.

Picture - Drama:
Hacksaw Ridge - Hell Or High Water - Lion - Manchester by the Sea - Moonlight
WINNER: Manchester by the Sea
alt: Moonlight
I keep going back and forth, but I decided on Manchester even if Globes like to spread the wealth.
