I went 12/25 plus 6 alts. Better than the past two years at least.

A clean sweep for La La Land - Holy shit. Most Globe wins ever! I guess if we only saw a small bit of a backlash, we're in for it full force now.

Huppert! Taylor-Johnson??!?! WTF. The same laugh I did when Blunt was nominated for SAG is what I did when Aaron won. He was soooooo hot, though. Damn. But what an awful/hilarious moment.

As for the show, it was good. Fallon was not. I liked the opening, but his material after that was lame. His best bit was "Chastain and the Redmayne", which actually made me laugh out loud. Best humor moment of the night was without question Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig. I was clapping and laughing and loving it. Really lovely speeches too, except for Hiddleston going on and on. Hugh Laurie was hilarious as always. I think he should host next. Viola Davis, as always, is a class act and I loved the joke about how her sucking up didn't pay off. Her presentation to Streep was great, and Meryl herself was terrific and very human. Meryl really is the queen. Tracee Ellis Ross is just joy incarnate. She was so happy. For all the La La Land wins, the crowd really loved the Moonlight win. Standing ovation. Dayum. And I don't think anyone has ever been as happy as Isabelle Huppert. Lovely moments.

NBC's preshow may be the worst thing I've ever witnessed. A technical trainwreck, awful hosts and OMG HIDDEN FENCES?!?!?! HIDDEN FENCES?!?!?! Then, fucking Michael Keaton said it during the show. HIDDEN FENCES?!?!?!? E!, which was bad too, was a master class in how to do red carpet coverage in comparison. E! has Kris Jenner. When she's the only member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, you know you have a problem. E! needs to drop that Todd Crissley guy. He's being a real asshole right now on the post show.

Other random thoughts:
+Timothy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore = SCREAM FAMILY!!!! I'm probably the only person who thought that. Never change, Darren.
+JLD as DJ was the best. JLD should co-host with Hugh.
+There was a brief True Grit reunion on the red carpet with Matt, Hailee and Jeff. I love that Hailee and Jeff were sitting together.
LOL Sienna and Zoe loving it while Affleck is not.
+Emma Stone is being hilarious in the pressroom right now. She's being very JLaw.
+Denzel Washington had the same facial expression even when he gave Casey the thumbs up.
+Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer were great, too.
+Nicole and Reese. Reese was playing Elle Woods again.
+Meryl giving a nice shoutout to some actresses. Negga looked so moved and Gosling was happy to be Canadian. As anyone should be.
+I loved Annette Bening's grand entrance and her loving Elle Fanning and Greta Gerwig. That was a great introduction.
+Huppert freaking out when Paul won, and then her winning moment was great. She was so lost when she had to end her speech, and then the Rocky music started. Oddly perfect moment?
+The audience loved that Lion kid. All the "awww"'s.
+The internet has a lot of HIDDEN FENCES jokes. They are turning it into a thing. Some of the jokes are really funny.
+I wish Olivia Colman had been there. Fantastic actress and would have been nice exposure for her.
+I saw a guy on the red carpet and was wondering who he was because he was so hot. Turns out it is This Is Us's Justin Hartley.
+Speaking of hot men, Chris Hemsworth = GOD FUCKING DAMN.
+Kenneth Lonergan was serving Frances McDormand realness.
+When Hiddleston won, he walked behind Jessica Chastain and my first thought was "Crimson Peak incest!" These are the reactions to Tom's speech. Holy shit!

+The Globes said Meryl was nominated for 18 Oscars. cough19cough coughsoontobe20cough
+The order of the TV awards needs to be worked on.
+Brad Pitt got a warm welcome. I really think the rumors are true of Hollywood really hating Angelina. They respect her, but they really don't like her.
+Brie did not look happy to present that award to Casey.

When should I see Hidden Fences?

Be back later in the week with Best Dressed and more!

Still working for me.

ETA: So a year later I'm adding my top 3 best dressed. Can't believe I forgot to do it!

1. JANELLE MONAE

2. NAOMIE HARRIS

3. BRIE LARSON
