November is here to hopefully save this miserable year. Lots of potential, but no sure things. Doctor Strange has solid reviews, but will probably be closer to the Thor movies than The Avengers series. I seem to be going higher on Trolls than everyone else. In fact, I wanted to go even higher. There's room for an animated breakout given the lack of family-aimed products in recent months. Hacksaw Ridge is the last opener. There might have been too many movies recently vying for the audience this is aimed at, so it'll probably be a soft performer. Moonlight continues to do well in limited, while Loving opens this weekend in four theaters. There are lots of Oscar contenders opening in limited in the coming weeks.

I'm going to add this: There are many films in the next two months opening that have been seen and loved. Some of them are even original. Come on, audiences. Do not fuck this up. You've bitched all year about Hollywood's lack of originality and lack of good storytelling. It's time to put your money where your mouth is and support these films.
