Hmm. I might be starting to regret my Boyhood Best Picture prediction for the Oscars. Birdman has proven to be a force.

I'm watching these now, I'll ETA with anything worth noting.

ETA:
Kristen Wiig and Zach Galifianakis need to co-host the Oscars. They were very funny.

They just showed Melissa Leo's HOORAY INDEPENDENT!

Paul Thomas Anderson bashing American Airlines was amusing.

Rene Russo looked so happy for her husband, though it was a bit odd he bashed superhero movies when she was in both Thor movies. Also, Hollywood, please keep casting Rene Russo in things!

Scarlett Johansson sounds so nasally presenting Director. She's pulling a Zoe Saldana and over-pronouncing everything.

Why do they sit everyone so far away? Who are the people sitting right in front of the stage? Why are they more important than big stars?

Andy Samberg calling Jessica Chastain "J.Cha" and "Stain Guard". Love it.

I'm curious as to why Fred Armisen and Kristen Bell were paired as hosts. Why not Carrie with Fred given they are on IFC?

Again, I'll say that stuff like Blue Ruin, Obvious Child, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night and some of the lower budgeted stuff is what this show should be celebrating, and not the stuff from the mini-majors.
