I think I did really bad in predictions = 10/25. BAD!

Tonight the Golden Globes were something they almost never were: meaningful. With recent events both overseas and here, everyone was very emotional. Lots of tears and people seemed very sincere. This is rare for an event that really epitomizes Hollywood. (I thought that Kevin Spacey was going to continue this trend when he gave his speech and come out. Guess that's never happening. Have fun with Kate Mara, though!) That said, it really made it feel like it wasn't the Globes. The irreverence was largely missing. There wasn't as much humor and craziness.

This was probably Tina and Amy's weakest outing as hosts. Rather easily, which is unfortunate. They got in some good zingers, but the room clearly was not liking that Cosby joke. Not only that, but they didn't do any characters and seemed to be in the show significantly less than the previous two ceremonies. And the character they did use (Margaret Cho) they overused. Hardly anything on e-mail aspect of the Sony scandal, rather they went for The Interview being terrible.

Random Thoughts:
+Frances McDormand and Bill Murray looked like they were in Hell.
+I think Meryl said to Margaret "Is this a sketch?"
+Meryl also led the standing ovation after HFPA's president speech about now bowing to those that threaten free speech.
+The TV winners had better speeches than the film winners. This has been a usual occurrence for this show.
+I can't fucking get over How To Train Your Dragon 2 beat The LEGO Movie. Biggest WTF of the night.
+Kate Hudson had a nose job right?
+Really disappointed with Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. That was like .01% as funny as Will and Kristen 2 years back. Especially disappointing because I was hoping they would be Amy and Tina's replacement.
+Bill and Kristen however were downright hilarious next to Kevin Hart. STOP. YELLING.
+Katherine Heigl and David Duchovny presenting together? Did he just come from a nap?
+Katie Holmes presenting and trying to be funny with Seth Meyers. She wasn't bad.
+Why is everyone fanning themself? Was it that hot in there?
+Frances McDormand probably won the night.
+Don Cheadle's Monuments Men joke was funny.
+Viola Davis and Allison Janney were so happy to see Prince. Priceless reactions.
+OMG Someone just called Ruth Wilson "a teethier Anna Chlumsky". DYING!
+Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon clearly like each other. When they did random shots of the room before/after commercials, they were canoodling several times.
+Soooo happy for Fargo's win. Probably my favorite win of the night.
+Billy Bob's speech was amusing. Most of the speeches were very good as I said earlier. It bugs me though that Billy Bob said in interviews before that he hates the Oscars and never wants to be nominated again and you'll never see him take part in that show. Kinda hypocritical.

+Also liked: Michael Keaton's speech was great, he's probably winning the Oscar. That's very much a speech someone gives on the way to the Oscar stage. His son is really hot, too.
+Wes Anderson was very amusing.
+I wish Patty hadn't read from a paper. I don't remember the last person who did that. Wasn't as bad as Jennifer Connelly's that one year.
+Jeremy Renner calling out Jennifer Lopez's Golden Globes = lol. I didn't really notice his behavior, but people seemed to think it was very odd. Perhaps that closet is getting to him? And Lopez is going to be dressing like that in her 60's isn't she? Still just presenting awards, too, no doubt.

+Julianne Moore and Eddie Redmayne got rushed off. Julianne will have many mo(o)re speeches to give, Eddie might not.
+Matt Bomer is seriously scary looking. His face doesn't move at all. Very good looking, but he's a robot.
+Maggie Gyllenhaal's speech was also terrific. Jessica Lange didn't look like she was having it, neither did Frances (goes without saying at this point).
+I officially love Taylor Schilling forever. (ABOVE - in the red on the left).
+Still kinda shocked Orange Is The New Black is getting shutout of the big award shows. I wonder if SAG will do the same. That said, such a nice relief not to have Modern Family and Big Bang Theory at an award show.
+Despite calling off their engagement, Robin Wright and Ben Foster were sitting together.
+Diane Kruger seemed really happy when her hot boyfriend Joshua Jackson's show won.
+Both TV shows that won have female showrunners! AWESOME!

Be back tomorrow or Tuesday with BEST DRESSED!
