Golden Globe Predictions!

Announced in two groups: the first one at 8:15AM on the HFPA website. The second will be broadcast on NBC and many other networks at 8:35AM Eastern. Kate Beckinsale, Peter Krause, Paula Patton and Jeremy Piven will be doing the announcing. (That's the best they could get?)

I'm doing TV like SAG, since I didn't do too bad there.

TV SERIES - DRAMA:
The Affair - Game of Thrones - The Good Wife - House of Cards - The Leftovers
alt: The Knick
Don't feel great about The Affair, but everything else seems to be over.

ACTRESS - DRAMA:
Lizzy Caplan - Masters of Sex
Viola Davis - How To Get Away With Murder
Julianna Margulies - The Good Wife
Tatiana Maslany - Orphan Black
Robin Wright - House of Cards
alt: Eva Green - Penny Dreadful
I think Kerry Washington is done. Her show's buzz has been completely stolen by HTGAWM.

ACTOR - DRAMA:
Jon Hamm - Mad Men
Clive Owen - The Knick
Michael Sheen - Masters of Sex
Kevin Spacey - House of Cards
Justin Theroux - The Leftovers
alt: James Spader - The Blacklist
No idea.

TV SERIES - COMEDY/MUSICAL:
Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Orange Is the New Black - Silicon Valley - Transparent - Veep
alt: Modern Family
I hope these award shows are soon over Modern Family, so this lineup might be wishful thinking.

ACTRESS - COMEDY/MUSICAL:
Lisa Kudrow - The Comeback
Julia Louis-Dreyfus - Veep
Amy Poehler - Parks and Recreation
Gina Rodriguez - Jane the Virgin
Taylor Schilling - Orange Is the New Black
alt: Lena Dunham - Girls
There's about 3 or 4 other ladies that could show up.

ACTOR - COMEDY/MUSICAL:
Louis C.K. - Louie
Don Cheadle - House of Lies
Jim Parsons - The Big Bang Theory
Andy Samberg - Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Jeffrey Tambor - Transparent
alt: Ricky Gervais - Derek
This may be the most depressing category.

TV MOVIE / MINISERIES:
American Horry Story: Freak Show - Fargo - The Normal Heart - Olive Kitteridge- True Detective
alt: Sherlock: His Last Vow

ACTRESS - TV MOVIE / MINISERIES:
Maggie Gyllenhaal - The Honorable Woman

ACTOR - TV MOVIE / MINISERIES:
Benedict Cumberbatch - Sherlock

SUPPORTING ACTOR - ALL TV:
Matt Bomer - The Normal Heart
Andre Braugher - Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Martin Freeman - Sherlock

I'm really just guessing with some of these.

MOVIES!!!!!

ANIMATED FILM:
Big Hero 6 - The Boxtrolls - How To Train Your Dragon 2 - The Lego Movie - Rio 2
alt: The Penguins of Madagascar
I think that foreign films are no longer eligible here?

FOREIGN FILM:
Force Majuere - Ida - Leviathan - Mommy - Two Days, One Night
alt: Winter Sleep
Just pulling things out of my ass.

ORIGINAL SONG:
"Lost Stars" - Begin Again
"Big Eyes" - Big Eyes
"Everything Is Awesome" - The Lego Movie
"Glory" - Selma
"Miracles" - Unbroken
alt: "The Last Goodbye" - The Hobbit
Pulling more stuff out of my ass.

ORIGINAL SCORE:
Gone Girl - The Imitation Game - Interstellar - The Theory of Everything - Unbroken
alt: The Grand Budapest Hotel

SCREENPLAY:
Birdman - Boyhood - The Grand Budapest Hotel - The Imitation Game - Selma
alt: Gone Girl

SUPPORTING ACTOR:
Josh Brolin - Inherent Vice
Ethan Hawke - Boyhood
Edward Norton - Birdman
Mark Ruffalo - Foxcatcher
JK Simmons - Whiplash
alt: Robert Duvall - The Judge
Or Chris Pine or Tom Wilkinson.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
Patricia Arquette - Boyhood
Laura Dern - Wild
Keira Knightley - The Imitation Game
Emma Stone - Birdman
Meryl Streep - Into the Woods
alt: Jessica Chastain - A Most Violent Year
The Globes love LOVE Laura, so that gives her the edge for me over Chastain. I don't think Naomi is happening here.

ACTOR - COMEDY/MUSICAL:
Ralph Fiennes - The Grand Budapest Hotel
Michael Keaton - Birdman
Bill Murray - St. Vincent
Joaquin Phoenix - Inherent Vice
Chris Pratt - Guardians of the Galaxy
alt: Christoph Waltz - Big Eyes
Chris Rock, Bill Hader and James Cordon are also possible.

ACTRESS - COMEDY/MUSICAL:
Amy Adams - Big Eyes
Emily Blunt - Into the Woods
Angelina Jolie - Maleficent
Keira Knightley - Begin Again
Jenny Slate - Obvious Child
alt: Helen Mirren - The Hundred Foot Journey
It might be wishful thinking for Slate, who gives one of the best performances of the year. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Rosario Dawson are contenders.

ACTOR - DRAMA:
Steve Carell - Foxcatcher
Benedict Cumberbatch - The Imitation Game
Jake Gyllenhaal - Nightcrawler
David Oyelowo - Selma
Eddie Redmayne - The Theory of Everything
alt: Bradley Cooper - American Sniper
Jack O'Connell, Timothy Spall and Oscar Isaac could show. Spall seems like such a wildcare here. I could see him missing all the precursors but BAFTA and getting an Oscar nom.

ACTRESS - DRAMA:
Jennifer Aniston - Cake
Felicity Jones - The Theory of Everything
Julianne Moore - Still Alice
Rosamund Pike - Gone Girl
Reese Witherspoon - Wild
alt: Marion Cotillard - Two Days, One Night
Maybe Swank.

Morten Tyldum - The Imitation Game
alt: James Marsh - The Theory of Everything

FILM - COMEDY/MUSICAL:
Begin Again
Birdman
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Into the Woods
St. Vincent
alt: Big Eyes
Maybe Top Five, Pride or Annie.

FILM - DRAMA:
Boyhood
The Imitation Game
Selma
The Theory of Everything
Unbroken
alt: Whiplash
They apparently loved Whiplash.
