Holidays rebounded and 2014 will finish on a strong note. Thanks to the holiday bump, Mockingjay will easily cross Guardians to be the #1 film of the year. Into the Woods and Unbroken added some much need boom, with both likely finishing with at least $130m. That's about where most predicted Woods would end up, but really surprising for Unbroken. I guess I underestimated the just how big the book is. The Imitation Game did extremely well despite being in under 800 theaters. Once it expands further - I'm guessing after Oscar nominations - it has a definite shot at $100m. Big Eyes may be the big awards miss of the season, as it was barely in the top 15, and will only end up with about $15m-16m total. Outside the top 10, Wild keeps plugging away, Big Hero 6 had a nice boost, and Selma debuted in 19 theaters to respectable if unspectacular numbers. American Sniper is setting records for PTA, and when it goes wide on the 16th could match Lone Survivor's massive expansion from last year. As for The Interview, it made $15m+ from downloads and an addition $3.5m in limited so far. I think that's mostly solid, as I was never sold on the film being a hit.

The only opener this weekend is Woman In Black 2. I'll be surprised if it gets to the teens.
