10. The Expendables 3 - $4m / $34m / $43m

So Sin City 2 kinda ended up the bomb of the summer.  With a budget reportedly between $60-70m, it'll only earn about $15m.  Yeesh.  August had the biggest hit and biggest bomb.  Guardians returned to the top last weekend and will stay there this weekend and next, with Turtles right behind it.  Guardians will also be the highest grossing film of the year, passing that mark on Friday.  Only two movies open this weekend, and several are getting re-released (including Ghostbusters?!?!?).  As Above, So Below may be the oddest named horror movie in some time, but horror films thrive this weekend.  (Just saw a trailer for The Pyramid, which looks exactly the same but takes place in the Egyptian pyramids.)  Adult aimed action/thrillers have also performed competently this weekend, but The November Man just looks bland as can be.

Next week, I'll do some kind of summer movie wrap up.
