Golden Globes Randomness

So many great things about this:  Julia hitting up Jennifer and Nicolas.  Megan Ellison looking jealous.  Emma Thompson doing a one woman standing O.  But the best is Jim Parsons' reaction to Emma.  Emma seemed way too on for most of the night, and I wasn't a fan of her "drunken" presentation when it was soooo obviously planned.

Oscar Isaac was forced to work.  He's not the only person who worked the bottle.

They look miserable.

LOL - One of the best jokes of the night.  Leo also pronounced it "Feel-o-mania."  Him and Zoe Saldana need to talk to Harvey Weinstein.

Yum.

Other random things:

+Sarah Paulson is the Bette Davis of America???
+Reese Witherspoon presenting 12 Years a Slave LOL.
+Kinda funny how people on social media went after Jacqueline Bisset for her rambling.  Let's get this straight:  Bisset is awful for this.  Anne Hathaway is awful for the exact opposite.  And everyone in between is awful because their speeches are boring.  Ugh.  Quit complaining about speeches.
+American Hustle's original title was Explosion at the Wig Factory
+Spike Jonze is hot.
+The Clooney joke was probably Tina and Amy's highpoint.
+Rob Lowe looked pissed when Amy won.  Dick.
+Speaking of, so happy Amy finally won a televised award.  Loved her making out with Bono.  I wish JLD had done something in that category with her now that Tina's out.
+Amy as Mr. Golden Globe was the only dress-up thing Tina and Amy did, even more awesome than their fake nominees from last year.
+The Jimmy Fallon/Melissa McCarthy "Matt Damon" thing didn't land at all.  Felt like it was building to something that never happened.
+Can we ban Diddy (or whatever the fuck he's going by now) from award shows forever?  I swear Beckinsale had to present with him before at this show and she looked so uncomfortable both times.  Why is he even allowed at these things?  He hasn't done anything relevant (ever?) since....
+Lots of people said 'shit'.
+Some okay reaction shots, but not nearly enough.  That's what makes the Globes so great!  Keep the people closer to the stage next year, too.
+LOL @ E! and their FUN FACTS.  I'm glad that shined some light on how truly awful that network has become.

Instead of calling this Best Dressed, I'm going to call this "Least Worst Dressed":

BEST OF THE NIGHT - KATE BECKINSALE.  Yeah, she's obviously gotten some work done in her face, but the dress is smoking.  Probably one of the only Globe dresses I genuinely loved from the moment I saw it until now.

THE REST:
(alphabetically)

CATE BLANCHETT - Love it.

MILA KUNIS - This "trickle down" sequin-ish look seemed very popular.

ZOSIA MAMET - Really cute.

LUPITA NYONG'O - While I'm not as high on it as some others, it's still such a 'moment' dress.

MONICA POTTER - So happy for her!  Wish she would have won.

LILY RABE - Not too familiar with her, but I like this.

MARGOT ROBBIE - Fab, and a nice debut for her.

JULIA ROBERTS - I know this is divisive, but she pulls it off with such sophistication.  I know "a look only she could pull off" is kind of a backhanded compliment, but it's fitting here.  Gorgeous makeup, true movie star!

NAOMI WATTS - Feels like a look I would see and enjoy at another award show.  Probably one of the only dresses I could say that about at this year's Globes.

THE WORST - ZOE SALDANA.  Of course the morons on E! loved this.  WTF?  This isn't even a real dress.  It's the remains of six dresses sewn together randomly.  In case you're wondering why I didn't choose Paula Patton as Worst Dressed, to me that dress was worn to get attention in a bad way.  Her entire personality (and who she's married to) comes off that way as well.  Whatever.
