19th Annual Critics Choice Movie Awards Nominations

Before these were announced, they kept referring to them as "THE SINGLE MOST ACCURATE PRECURSOR TO THE OSCARS!"  Lol, that is really pathetic.  This is, after all, the organization that can't spell Anne Hathaway, has Port-o-potties that Daniel Day-Lewis makes fun of in his speech, added genre categories to get more people to attend, has a kid critic on their show talking about his favorites, didn't have enough awards last year, gave out the screenplay award during the commercial break, and the show that Sally Field swore she would never attend again.

As for the actual nominations, they're exactly as expected.  It's just hard to take these seriously given they now came after the far more important Globe and SAG nods.  Even though, as pointed out, these are frequently more accurate to what Oscar will nominate, these are just so irrelevant.  Anyways, good for Brie Larson!  She's been nominated at many of the minor critics awards, which will help boost her profile.  I'm thinking she might be the new Michelle Williams - someone who shines in indies and chooses smarter studio ventures.  Scarlett Johansson is a nice nomination as well.
