Box: Thor 4: More Thor

Isn't there a Hemsworth-lookalike who can do a Thor porn parody?  I would totally NOT watch that 7,182 times.

1. Thor: The Dark World - $78m
This is tracking higher and some predictions have it going over $100m, which would be insane.  Skyfall opened just below $90m last year on this weekend, but I'm still being safe.  I know "The Avengers effect" was in full bloom with Iron Man 3 and it might be here, too.  This could end up being the second biggest movie of the season behind The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.  With an opening in the high 70's, as I'm predicting, I think it'll finish about 215m.

2. Ender's Game - $12m
The opening for this was as expected, and legs will be cut short by Thor and Katniss.  After this weekend, it'll be in the mid 40's, and will finish in the mid 70's.

3. Bad Grandpa - $11m
This had a very strong hold last weekend considering the type of movie it is.  It's looking like it'll be the third film released in October to cross $100m.

4. Free Birds - $9.5m
It's performing exactly as anticipated, so it's final gross will be about $60m.

5. Last Vegas - $9m
Hey, another movie that did exactly as anticipated from last weekend!  Weekday legs look to be very good, so it'll probably have a similar run as Free Birds and finish with $60m.

6. Gravity - $8m
This will bring it to about $230m, so I'm still holding on for about $265-275m.

7. 12 Years a Slave - $6m
It's expanding to 1000+ theaters, so this will be the test of whether it can translate to mainstream success.  Its PTAs so far have been stellar.

8. Captain Phillips - $5.5m
It'll safely cross $100m, and depending on how it plays during award season might get to $115m.  Right now, $105m looks good.

9. About Time - $5m
This didn't do too great last week in just under 200 theaters, and it's expanding to about 1200 theaters.  Word of mouth is positive, which it desperately needs.  A domestic take just below $20m is in order.

10. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 - $2.5m
The original made just under $125m domestically, and this will finish just below that at $115m.
