Tonight on TBS/TNT.
Only doing film categories, as their TV winners are probably going to be the same as last year.
Male Actor - George Clooney
Alt - Brad Pitt
Dujardin has a shot. Clooney wins here, smooth sailing to Oscar. Bleh.
Male Supporting Actor - Christopher Plummer
Alt - Nick Nolte
I could see there being a random upset, but I doubt it. Plummer should have everything locked down.
Female Actor - Viola Davis
Alt - Meryl Streep
Streep just won this 3 years ago, and if she does win, she's in it all the way to Oscar. Which is sad. Davis and Streep are neck and neck, which of course means Michelle Williams will shock everyone and win. That would make things fun.
Female Supporting Actor - Octavia Spencer
Alt - Melissa McCarthy
Melissa probably does have a decent shot here, so might Jessica. Again, I'm hoping one of them takes it just to make things interesting.
Ensemble - THE HELP
Alt - THE ARTIST
I'm not entirely sure Help is winning anymore because of the overwhelming industry support for The Artist. The fact that Help's ensemble is only one (or two?) man might hurt it. That being said, it is the "actors" movie of the lot, so I'm going with it.
