GOLDEN GLOBE PREDICTIONS!

These are kind of tough. I'll do acting first. 2 alternates, since they like to randomly nominate wacky numbers of people.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
Amy Adams - The Fighter
Helena Bonham Carter - The King's Speech
Melissa Leo - The Fighter
Hailee Steinfeld - True Grit
Jacki Weaver - Animal Kingdom

1st Alt: Mila Kunis - Black Swan
2nd Alt: Diane Weist - Rabbit Hole
The first three are safe. Steinfeld, I'm not as sure about. They usually don't like kids here? Weaver is the critics darling but they easily miss here too. Other options: Barbara Hershey or Olivia Williams.

SUPPORTING ACTOR:
Christian Bale - The Fighter
Matt Damon - True Grit
Andrew Garfield - The Social Network
Mark Ruffalo - The Kids Are All Right
Geoffrey Rush - The King's Speech

1st Alt - Sam Rockwell - Conviction
2nd Alt - Justin Timberlake - The Social Network
Bale and Rush are safe. I'll go with Damon for starfucking, and that's also why JT is my alt. Bill Murray would be another option. Jeremy Renner, too.

ACTOR - DRAMA:
Jeff Bridges - True Grit
Robert Duvall - Get Low
Jesse Eisenberg - The Social Network
Colin Firth - The King's Speech
James Franco - 127 Hours

1st Alt - Javier Bardem - Biutiful
2nd Alt - Leonardo Dicaprio - Shutter Island
Or Mark Wahlberg. I'd say only Duvall might be on shakey ground. Everyone else can get their publicists to get their 'glad to be nominated' speeches ready. Gosling would be a good alt, but when in doubt, go with the starfucking.

ACTRESS - DRAMA:
Nicole Kidman - Rabbit Hole
Jennifer Lawrence - Winter's Bone
Lesley Manville - Another Year
Natalie Portman - Black Swan
Noomi Rapace - Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

1st Alt - Michelle Williams - Blue Valentine
2nd Alt - Naomi Watts - Fair Game
Or Annette Bening (Mother and Child) or Tilda Swinton... I think Tilda is just wishful thinking on part of cinephiles but a lot are predicting her. A lot aren't predicting J.Law on the basis of being in such a small film and it is the type of performance/film that is usually ignored her. However, I think she has the right buzz and the hotness factor going for her. Rapace is my brave prediction for the drama categories.

ACTOR - COMEDY/MUSICAL:
Jim Carrey - I Love You Phillip Morris
Johnny Depp - Alice In Wonderland
Stephen Dorff - Somewhere
Michael Douglas - Solitary Man
Ben Stiller - Greenberg

1st Alt - Jake Gyllenhaal - Love and Other Drugs
2nd Alt - Michael Cera - Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
And thus we begin the joke that is the comedy category. Slim pickins' here. I'll just leave this one at that. I can't believe Jake has yet to be nominated?

ACTRESS - COMEDY/MUSICAL:
Annette Bening - The Kids Are All Right
Anne Hatahway - Love and Other Drugs
Sally Hawkins - Made in Dagenham
Julianne Moore - The Kids Are All Right
Emma Stone - Easy A

1st Alt - Julia Roberts - Eat Pray Love
2nd Alt - Cher - Burlesque
Or Catherine Keener or Rachel McAdams. Ugh, who knows. These are disasters. I admit Stone is 50% going to happen / 50% wishful thinking.

DIRECTING:
Darren Aronofsky - Black Swan
Joel & Ethan Coen - True Grit
David Fincher - The Social Network
Tom Hooper - The King's Speech
Christopher Nolan - Inception

1st Alt - Ben Affleck - The Town
2nd Alt - Danny Boyle - 127 Hours
Or anyone whose film gets nominated in Picture. I'm feeling Inception misses picture but this is their way of throwing it a bone a la Jackson and King Kong.

SCREENPLAY:
The Kids Are All Right
The King's Speech
Rabbit Hole
The Social Network
True Grit

1st Alt - Winter's Bone
2nd Alt - The Town
No idea. Social and King are in. I went with Winter as an alternate just cause they occasionally go with indies here instead of Picture. Though, as you will recall, last year they embarassingly nominated NANNNNNNCY here.

SONG:
127 Hours - "If I Rise"
Burlesque - "You Haven't Seen the Last of ME"
Country Strong - "Me and Tennessee"
Tangled - "I See The Light"
Toy Story 3 - "We Belong Together"

1st Alt - Waiting For Superman - "Shine"
2nd Alt - Eat Pray Love - "Better Days"
Yeah, I'll go with that.

SCORE:
The Ghost Writer
Inception
The King's Speech
The Social Network
True Grit

1st Alt - Never Let Me Go
2nd Alt - 127 Hours
Yeah, see above.

ANIMATED FEATURE:
Despicable Me
How to Train Your Dragon
The Illusionist
Tangled
Toy Story 3

1st Alt - Shrek Forever After
2nd Alt - Megamind
Bleh.

COMEDY/MUSICAL FILM:
Alice In Wonderland
Cyrus
The Kids Are All Right
Please Give
Somewhere

1st Alt - Easy A
2nd Alt - Made in Dagenham
So no idea if Dagenham is still in comedy/musical. Red could show up here. Basically, anything that was a comedy could show up here (Date Night, The Other Guys, etc) or even Burlesque. Bleh, what an awful category.

DRAMA - FILM:
Black Swan
The Fighter
The King's Speech
The Social Network
True Grit

1st Alt - The Town
2nd Alt - 127 Hours
Or Inception, Winter's Bone, or whatever. I think given Black Swan's showing everywhere else it shouldn't have trouble.

So there. :-)

As for TV, I hope Amy Poehler can get a nomination. And Community and Modern Family.
