Both announcing Wednesday.
DGA:
The Daniels - Everything Everywhere All At Once
Joseph Kosinski - Top Gun: Maverick
Baz Luhrman - Elvis
Martin McDonagh - The Banshees of Inisherin
Steven Spielberg - The Fabelmans
alt: James Cameron - Avatar: The Way of Water
I think most have this lineup, pretty safe.
SAG:
(Not doing TV. It just gives me a headache.)
Male Actor in a Supporting Role:
Brendan Gleeson - The Banshees of Inisherin
Tom Hanks - Elvis
Barry Keoghan - The Banshees of Inisherin
Ke Huy Quan - Everything Everywhere All At Once
Eddie Redmayne - The Good Nurse
alt: Brad Pitt - Babylon
Can they revive the men of Fabelmans?
Female Actor in a Supporting Role:
Angela Bassett - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Kerry Condon - The Banshees of Inisherin
Jamie Lee Curtis - Everything Everywhere All At Once
Dolly De Leon - Triangle of Sadness
Janelle Monae - Glass Onion
alt: Stephanie Hsu - Everything Everywhere All At Once
Not many predicting Dolly, but if she does get in here she's safe for the Oscar nom. Hong Chau also has a good shot considering everyone will be watching The Whale for Brendan. I wish one of these groups would nominate her for The Menu. She'd probably make my personal ballot for that.
Male Actor in a Leading Role:
Austin Butler - Elvis
Tom Cruise - Top Gun: Maverick
Colin Farrell - The Banshees of Inisherin
Brendan Fraser - The Whale
Bill Nighy - Living
alt: Jeremy Pope - The Inspection
Female Actor in a Leading Role:
Cate Blanchett - TÁR
Viola Davis - The Woman King
Danielle Deadwyler - Till
Michelle Williams - The Fabelmans
Michelle Yeoh - Everything Everywhere All At Once
alt: Ana de Armas - Blonde
Cast of a Motion Picture:
The Banshees of Inisherin
Everything Everywhere All At Once
The Fabelmans
Glass Onion
The Woman King
alt: Top Gun: Maverick
Not entirely sold on Glass Onion given they ignored Knives Out which I thought had a much stronger ensemble. If Elvis would get in here, it's probably a top 3 film for the season.
ETA: I completely forgot about Women Talking, which goes to show it's place in the race. That seemed like SAG catnip and this would be the place to revive its chances.
The big news about SAG is that they might not even be broadcasting the ceremony. No one has picked up the show after TBS/TNT cancelled it, which is really sad for an awards junkie like me.
