Can you guess which two?
One is sung by a Korean woman. The other is sung by a transwoman.
Lady Gaga, Sam Smith and The Weeknd have been confirmed to perform the other three nominated songs. In addition, the producers of the show have announced that Pharrell Williams and Dave Grohl will perform.
But when it comes to "Simple Song #3" from Youth and "Manta Ray" from Racing Extinction, these numbers had to be cut due to "time constraints".
Despite time constraints, Grohl and Williams were added.
If these songs weren't nominated, and "See You Again" from Furious 7 and "Love Me Like You Do" from Fifty Shades of Grey were, do you think there would still be a time constraint issue?
Despite the producers insistence that this will be the most diverse Oscars ever, shit like this still happens. Diversity goes beyond black and white. Despite the Academy's promise to change, they are still pulling the same shit.
Here's a Variety article about the performances.
