The Revenant is the only thing that was eligible here that missed. (Brooklyn is ineligible.) Now that Star Wars has been seen, it's showing up in top 10 lists and getting some critics citations. Had the film been screened sooner, it might have had a chance with some of the critics groups that have been mentioned and built some momentum. Of course, it helps that it will be the box-office story of the next month or so.
