The last week in January delivers 3 more R-rated movies.  Did the studio executives really not think any of this through.  If a family film were to open right now, it would have that market completely to itself and for the next several weeks.  I think Hansel and Gretel looks fun, but its one of those movies that'll probably end up being surprisingly dull.  Tracking on it is way higher than what I'm predicting.  Both Movie 43 and Parker are tracking high single digits.  Movie 43 started filming its short films four years ago, and has been slowly adding parts since then.  Such a strange movie, and I'm not sure audiences know exactly what they'll be getting.  It has a review embargo until Friday, never a good sign.  However, I have to agree with one of the film's 16ish directors and say that it'll probably turn into a cult hit.

Last week, Jessica Chastain became the first woman in 50 years (we still haven't figured out the last one) to topline the top 2 movies in the country.

I'm loving those curves.
