After about 4 months of horror films doing poor, hopefully The Invisible Man arrives to reverse the trend. Aided by terrific reviews and a pervasive marketing push, it should get to 20's. Given the quiet marketplace outside of family movies, it would be great to see a breakout. It's the only wide opener this weekend, with the Impractical Jokers movie expanding. It did well last weekend in around 300 theaters, but feels too niche to do well with mainstream audiences. Still, it's a solid gross given it was probably pretty cheap to produce. Emma expands to around a hundred theaters this weekend before going wide next weekend. That film scored just under a $50k theater average in 5 theaters last weekend. Very good start.
