"Once you overcome the one inch tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films." Tell 'em, Bong!

Decent show, though lacking in typical Globes craziness. Ricky was okay, I think this is probably his last hosting. The audience seemed really over him, and the only joke that really went over was the one about Once Upon a Time In Hollywood being so long Leo's girlfriend was too old by the end of it. Not much energy from the crowd. A lot of presenters didn't show, damn flu! Sandra Bullock was the big surprise presenter.

+They probably shouldn't have made the first hour so television-heavy. Damn, they really love Patricia Arquette and Olivia Colman. Both now have three Globes. I wonder why Olivia didn't present.

+I guess I was one of the few who realized right away why Charlize was presenting to Tom. Kind of a surprising choice, but makes complete sense. She really sold it. It was weird seeing Tom getting emotional. He's like Film Dad. Also, his reaction to Ricky's monologue was probably the crowd reaction shot of the night.

+Kate really sold her Ellen tribute, too. I know Ellen has been a bit, uh, "cancelled" of late, but it was a sweet moment.

+Netflix may have been the night's big loser. Only one winner for them. The only moment they really got was Ricky's joke about a clip from Irishman being 88 minutes.

+Taylor Swift presents with Amy Poehler several years after saying Amy would go to Hell for not supporting her.

+FUCK YEAH MISSING LINK EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE MISSING LINK BEST UPSET OF THE NIGHT!

+Jason Momoa took off his jacket and had a tank top on. This can become a trend. I don't mind.

+Michelle Williams delivers another great, rallying speech. Kinda expected Patricia to call out Ricky. Laura Dern attempting to tie Marriage Story into the environment was a bit much. Awkwafina's speech was good. Most of the TV people had good speeches. How cool is it that Brian Cox and Stellan Skarsgard got to deliver speeches at an award show? Really strong character actors winning! Stellan's son won 2 years ago! Ha! He should have mentioned that.

+Renee Zellweger's speech - yeah, I think she's channeling her old Texas Chainsaw buddy Matthew McConaughey and was a little stoned. Or drunk. She seemed to not know how to walk. She's lucky she went after Joaquin.

+I did love Joaquin calling out the private jets. I've been waiting for a celeb to speak up on that!

+Margot was so happy for Quentin, but why didn't Brad & Leo go to the stage when Hollywood won Pic?

+Elton and Bernie got some genuine enthusiasm in the room. I think they were the only presenters to get a standing O?

+Fashions were mostly a miss, though I liked some looks. I've been very inconsistent with the Globes Best Dressed lists in year's passed. I'll try to do one later in the week.

I apparently have to be kind to someone tomorrow. Great.
