Unless I'm mistaken, Sherlock Gnomes will be the only PG/G animated film until The Incredibles 2 on June 15. What? Poor scheduling rears its ugly head again. That should help legs. Pacific Rim Uprising, like the original, will depend almost entirely on its overseas gross to make a profit. It's one of those films I'm not sure should have been made in the first place. Paul, Apostle of Christ, Midnight Sun and Unsane also open. I'll be shocked if any of them break out of the single digits. There are way too many movies opening this and next month that should have gone straight to streaming. (I think I mentioned that last weekend and I'll probably say it a few more times.) I Can Only Imagine did huge business last weekend, and will become Roadside Attractions highest grosser. I guess they've found their niche. That film and Love, Simon both got A+'s from Cinemascore, so legs for both should be good. Isle of Dogs opens in a handful of theaters and should be able to do $1m+ for the weekend. It goes wide April 13.
