Trailers: "Lion" "Manchester By the Sea" "Rings"

Here's Harvey's big Oscar push for the year, assuming Weinstein Company doesn't completely collapse before its release. Nicole with her native accent is always welcome. Aussie Rooney Mara is not. And, wow, Dev Patel got cute.

And on to a film that is definitely in the Oscar race in a potentially very big way, here's the trailer for the latest film from Kenneth Lonergan (You Can Count on Me, Margaret). With this, he's directed three of the most acclaimed films of the new millennium. I've heard this trailer is a little misleading, though.

Lastly, here's a trailer for a movie that is coming nowhere near the Oscar race. I think this looks better than I expected, but I really hate that "SEVEN DAYS!" bouncing around the soundscape of the latter half of the trailer. (The trailer for Sully did something similar but it was actually very effective in that trailer.) I was wondering how this concept would play in a post-VHS world, and it looks like they've found some clever ways around that.
