Well, at least the top 2 movies will do something. The rest of the top 10 is a shit show. Insurgent is apparently outselling the first film in pre-sales, but I don't expect it to outgross the first film in opening weekend or total. It'll come close enough. Sean Penn has never been a draw, so I'm not feeling a breakout (even a small one) for The Gunman, especially with Run All Night opening last week and Kingsman still doing solid business. That film has held up surprisingly well. Outside of Cinderella, the big story from last week was how well It Follows did in limited release. It expands to what I'm guessing is around 100 theaters this weekend. The studio had planned a VOD date for next Friday, but I think they should cancel it and take the film wide. We need a hugely acclaimed horror film in wide release.
