Box: I'll be the dead hooker in a loft with James Marsden, Karl Urban, Wentworth Miller and Matthias Schoenaerts ANY DAY.

1. American Sniper - $38m / $256m / $350m
2. Project Almanac - $15m / $15m / $38m
3. Paddington - $8.5m / $50.5m / $74m
4. The Boy Next Door - $7m / $26m / $40m
5. The Wedding Ringer - $6m / $48.5m / $62m
6. Black or White - $5m / $5m / $15m
**The Imitation Game - $5m / $68m / $90m
8. Selma - $3.5m / $44.5m / $56m
**Taken 3 - $3.5m / $81.5m / $90m
10. The Loft - $3m / $3m / $7m
***A Most Violent Year - $3m / $4.5m / $14m

At this point, it's obvious American Sniper is going to be the highest grossing film of 2014. Which is insane. It would've been nice to have the second year in a row of the #1 film of the year being led by a woman, but clearly Katniss is being taken down by a sniper. Three openers this weekend, with Almanac likely being the only thing to get to 8 digits. I'm not certain about Black or White, and I wouldn't be surprised if The Loft misses the top 10 altogether. (I heard that it actually wrapped back in 2011, which has to be one of the longest holds for a wide release in ages.) I don't believe there was an estimated screen count for A Most Violent Year, but I'm guessing it'll be just under a thousand. Super boring Super Bowl weekend, as usual. Outside of Sniper, obviously. Luckily, February looks a lot more interesting.
