It'll be a two part announcement beginning at 8:30 AM Eastern. JJ and Alfonso will announce the nominees in Animated Feature Film, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Film Editing, Original Song, Production Design, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects.
At 8:38 AM, Chris Pine and Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs will announce the nominees in Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Cinematography, Costume Design, Directing, Foreign Language Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score, Adapted Screenplay, Original Screenplay and Best Picture.
I like that all of the categories will be announced. It might create more suspense, especially with editing being in the first group. That said, I'll again complain about the lack of an Oscar-nominee/winner doing the announcement with Cheryl. 2 years ago it was Emma Stone and Seth McFarlane, last year it was Chris Hemsworth.
