THOUGHTS:
Typical SAG show. Some good speeches, few chuckles.

+Thanks Zach Galifianakis for the biggest laugh of the night.
+I messed up a lot of my TV predictions. I didn't consider that they'd give it to Redmayne and have Keaton represted in Ensemble.
+Naomi almost tripped. I'm sure some people enjoyed that.
+LOL @ the fuck-up when Reese was presenting. "That wasn't me." Also, a very obvious laugh track throughout the night?
+I don't get why people bother writing anything for Julia Roberts to say. She's not going to say it. She is right about Ruffalo, though.
+That montage showing important issues. That was BROAD. Montages can be a little more specific. Hooray for unions, gays, race, alcoholism, poor people! HOORAY!
+I like the way Debbie Reynolds just kind of rambled on. Oddly endearing.
+Frances McDormand can be at every award show from now until forever. Please and thank you.
+Allan Leech (I think? from Downton Abbey and Imitation Game) can get it. Yum.
+Matthew McConaughey lost all the major awards for True Detective. That's genuinely shocking.
+The American Sniper ads during this were stellar. Jeez, whoever did the marketing for that film deserves serious praise.
+Kevin Costner presenting Ensemble? I think he was hugging Aniston to death during the end credits.
+I'm glad Lupita and Jared presented something other than the categories (opposite gender, obvs) they won last year. By the time the Oscars roll around, we will have seen Jared give Patty two other awards, same for Matthew and Julianne. If I were the Oscar producers, I'd say they can present at one other award show and that's it.
+The ensemble clip packages: pick scenes from the movie, quit it with the trailer excerpts.

2 things about the red carpet:

1) E! had Maria Menwhatever instead of Rancic. No mention of why whatsoever. Hmm. Maria is just as awful. She wouldn't shut up about Game of Thrones despite it seeming like she has never actually seen it, though she gushed about Tatiana Maslany and I was very happy E! gave her a long interview. Oh, and there are things to ask the cast of Modern Family about other than Sofia and Joe.

2) I'm curious about the Manicam thing. Several actresses almost did, then made a very notable refusal. Jennifer Aniston turned around to her publicist almost like she was asking for permission. Are they boycotting it? Is it because the ladies who refused are older and don't want to show their hands? Am I reading way too much into this? (ETA: So I was right. Apparently the ladies are boycotting it. GOOD! Maybe they can boycott all of E! now.)

I never did a Globes Best/Worst, so I'll make it my goal for the week to do both.
