Okay, so this show was actually pretty good.  Probably the best Oscars show since Hugh Jackman / Slumdog Millionaire, not saying much.  Ellen was okay during the monologue, I loved the "you're racist" if 12 Years a Slave lost.  Her bits during the show, however, were really fun.  The pizza thing paid off nicely and the twitter picture with the audience was fantastic.  Probably the best bit of the night.  That said, minus Bette Midler who I thought was mugging way too much and sounded a little off, all the musical performances were terrific.  Pharrell dancing in the audience with some people from the front row (WORK IT LUPITA AND AMY!) had to be one of the best Oscar moments ever.  After last year where they clearly fucked them up, this was a very welcome surprise.  And they almost all got standing ovations?  Speaking of, it was nice that both writing winners got standing ovations.  Okay, I'm going to long with this for just the winners.  Be back tomorrow/Tuesday with overall thoughts and fashions.  I thought most of the fashions were very safe, but everyone looked kinda great.  Very few misses.

Shock of all shock:  Overall, I'm happy with the show.

*GASP*

Oh, I also think I went 22/24 with predictions which is a record for me.  Very predictable winners.

ETA: I keep adding stuff, sorry.  I need to save it.  But let me say John Travolta's botching of Idina Menzel's name is the hardest I've laughed in YEARS.
