SAG Thoughts!

5/5 in supporting actress
3/5 in supporting actor
4/5 in leading actress
4/5 in leading actor
4/5 in ensemble

Robert Redford is the biggest snub of the morning, but I think anyone missing except Ejiofor isn't a surprise.  Given how big Dallas Buyers Club went over, Matthew McConaughey is the safest behind Ejiofor for Actor.  We still have Leo and Joaquin potentially getting in.  Why is Best Actor always so stacked but Actress rarely is?

If the Globes give us the same supporting actress lineup, that's probably the Oscar nominees.  Though if I recall correctly the Oscar supporting actress lineup has never matched the Globes.

If that's what Oscar chooses for Best Actress, it'll be the second time we have a category entirely made of previous winners following last year's supporting actor roster. I still think Amy's getting in, though.

Supporting actor is looking like Jared Leto's to lose.  Fassbender is in, and beyond that who knows!  Gandolfini is most likely getting recogized.  Those last 2 slots are still up for grabs.

Ensemble - well, Dallas Buyers is a really left field choice.  Matthew and Jared dominate the film, and Jennifer is just kind of there.  The rest barely register.

As for TV, the prescence of Veep's ensemble make these a lot easier to digest.  The noms are still kind of awful.  No Girls or Lena Dunham.  The Good Wife is done despite a creative surge.  And they gave nominations to Netflix's Arrested Development and House of Cards but overlooked their crown jewel, Orange Is the New Black.  Fix that tomorrow, Globes!
