And EEAAO again breaks a record with the most wins - 7. Fargo, Stand and Deliver, and Sideways all took home 6.
Hasan Minhaj hosted, and he really bombed. I liked his digs at IFC and Deadline, but that room was not having him. Not sure if that bit of Cate Blanchett, Todd Field, Regina Hall, and Marisa Tomei hiding under a table from him was planned, but he seemed lost. Jeez. He pretty much disappeared after that, just introducing people. Bring back Aubrey Plaza as host! These are usually a bit more fun and energetic, but this was a slight slog. The TV categories are dragging the show down, and the sweep didn't help. I don't like that they changed (upped!) the budget requirement, either. But hey, Frances McDormand showed up!
And Sarah Polley mentioned "Women Are Talking".
Also, shoutout to the person who yelled "You're hot!" at the EEAAO editor. Yes, he is.
