Globe Dix

This week is very packed.
Monday - ADG & ASC
Tuesday - Golden Globes
Wednesday - SAG & DGA Noms
Thursday - PGA Noms, CDG

I'm going to do SAG & DGA predix tomorrow, and then PGA after the announcements on Wednesday.

WGA actually announces the day after the Oscar nominations. True trailblazers!

Anyways...

Film!

Original Song: "Hold My Hand" - Top Gun: Maverick
(alt: "Naatu Naatu" - RRR)

Original Score: The Fabelmans
(alt: Babylon)

Animated Motion Picture: Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio
(alt: Puss In Boots: The Last Wish)

Non English Language Motion Picture: All Quiet on the Western Front
(alt: RRR)

Screenplay: The Banshees of Inisherin
(alt: Everything Everywhere All At Once)

Supporting Actor: Ke Huy Quan - Everything Everywhere All At Once
(alt: Brendan Gleeson - The Banshees of Inisherin)
Locked winner of the season?

Supporting Actress: Kerry Condon - The Banshees of Inisherin
(alt: Dolly De Leon - Triangle of Sadness)
This is so up in the air. The only person I can't see winning here is Mulligan. They do love JLC so she's a possibility.

Actor - Comedy/Musical: Colin Farrell - The Banshees of Inisherin
(alt: Daniel Craig - Glass Onion)

Actress - Comedy/Musical: Michelle Yeoh - Everything Everywhere All At Once
(alt: Emma Thompson - Good Luck To You, Leo Grande)

Actor - Drama: Austin Butler - Elvis
(alt: Brendan Fraser - The Whale)
I don't buy that they will give it to Fraser as a token of apology. He won't be there. They loved Elvis. Butler is probably ahead in the Oscar race.

Actress - Drama: Cate Blanchett - TÀR
(alt: Michelle Williams - The Fabelmans)
Cate won't be there, but Michelle is attending. As is Ana.

Director: Steven Spielberg - The Fabelmans
(The Daniels - Everything Everywhere All At Once)
One of those categories where everyone makes sense, and no one makes sense.

Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical: Everything Everywhere All At Once
(alt: The Banshees of Inisherin)
A tight race, but I think EEAAO is ahead in the overall race.

Motion Picture - Drama: The Fabelmans
(alt: Top Gun: Maverick)
Or Elvis could pull a Bohemian Rhapsody. Fabelmans needs this to remain competitive.

Random thought: Why is Marcel the Shell With Shoes On considered animated but Avatar: The Way of Water isn't?

The 80th Golden Globes airs Tuesday night on NBC & Peacock at 8PM.
