About average for both. Only nailed 2 categories. 

These would have been pretty good overall, but that actress lineup leads a bitter taste. I think the issue is, as it has been, that voters simply don't prioritize films starring POC that aren't across the board contenders. 

Curious if the Riseborough campaign will change anything. Will we see more of these grassroots/social media campaigns?

Love to see The Whale underperform, hated to see Triangle of Sadness get everywhere except where it deserved: Dolly. 

The music branch is never not nominating Warren. Just predict her and her mediocre end credits ballots forever.

16/20 acting nominees are first timers.

The Best Actor lineup are all newbies, something that hasn't happened in 88 years. Crazy! Happy for the Internet's Current Boyfriend, Paul Mescal! 

Jamie Lee Curtis now joins her parents as being Oscar nominated. The other people who can claim that are Liza Minnelli and Laura Dern.  

John Williams becomes the oldest nominee in history. 

Steven Spielberg ties with Martin Scorsese as the most nominated living director.
