So everything that opened last weekend bombed. This'll help clear things up for Guardians next weekend. The Circle and How To Be A Latin Lover are the only 2 wide releases this weekend, while Sleight just barely missed the threshold. The Circle might do okay, not sure what the budget is. Latin Lover will try to prove that the Latino successes of the past couple of years can crossover. Kind of surprised Sleight isn't going fully wide. Reviews are decent, but the marketing is a little sloppy. It doesn't seem to know what kind of film it's selling. Still, advertising as from the creators of Get Out should help. Gifted is turning into the indie breakout of the spring. Looks like Beauty and the Beast will have enough energy, and enough of an assist from Guardians being double booked at drive-ins, to get to $500m domestic.
