Globe Dix

Announced in the morning at 8:15AM Eastern on the Golden Globes website, followed by a second announcement at 8:30AM. Angela Bassett, America Ferrera, Chloe Grace Moretz and Dennis Quaid will be announcing.

Braving TV again. Last year I did 63.6% on TV. With more categories and more fluidity in their supporting races, it's a little harder than SAG.

Animated Film:
Anomalisa - The Good Dinosaur - Inside Out - Minions - The Peanuts Movie
alt: Shaun the Sheep Movie

Foreign Language Film:
Labyrinth of Lies - Mustang - Phoenix - The Second Mother - Son of Saul
alt: Dheepan

Original Song:
"Love Me Like You Do" - 50 Shades of Grey
"See You Again" - Furious 7
"One Kind of Love" - Love and Mercy
"Cold One" - Ricki and the Flash
"Writing's On the Wall" - Spectre
alt: "Flashlight" - Pitch Perfect 2

Original Score:
Carol - The Danish Girl - The Hateful Eight - Mad Max: Fury Road - Sicario
alt: The Revenant

Supporting Actor:
Idris Elba - Beasts of No Nation
Michael Keaton - Spotlight
Mark Ruffalo - Spotlight
Mark Rylance - Bridge of Spies
Sylvester Stallone - Creed
alt: Benecio Del Toro - Sicario
They just don't like child actors, so I think Tremblay is sitting this one out.

Supporting Actress:
Jane Fonda - Youth
Jennifer Jason Leigh - The Hateful Eight
Rachel McAdams - Spotlight
Helen Mirren - Trumbo
Kate Winslet - Steve Jobs
alt: Kristen Stewart - Clouds of Sils Maria
Alicia was forced lead for Danish Girl, as was Rooney Mara for Carol. I figure they might just gave Alicia a nod for another film (Ex Machina) to get her in if she misses lead in favor of Rampling.

Screenplay:
Brooklyn - Carol - The Hateful Eight - The Martian - Spotlight
alt: Room
Spotlight is probably the only safe thing here. There's about 5-6 other movies that could show up, too.

Leading Actor - Comedy/Musical:
Christian Bale - The Big Short
Steve Carell - The Big Short
Matt Damon - The Martian
Robert De Niro - The Intern
Bill Hader - Trainwreck
alt: Ben Mendelsohn - Mississippi Grind
I have no clue about Hader. I really don't think they are going to nominate Bradley Cooper for Burnt. Or Joaquin Phoenix for Irrational Man. I almost want to predict Channing Tatum for Magic Mike XXL. If Love and Mercy was put in this category, maybe Cusack can show here. I have no idea if Dano was ever confirmed supporting.

Leading Actress - Comedy/Musical:
Blythe Danner - I'll See You In My Dreams
Jennifer Lawrence - Joy
Amy Schumer - Trainwreck
Meryl Streep - Ricki and the Flash
Lily Tomlin - Grandma
alt: Melissa McCarthy - Spy
Or Anne Hathaway or Maggie Smith.

Leading Actor - Drama:
Johnny Depp - Black Mass
Leonardo DiCaprio - The Revenant
Michael Fassbender - Steve Jobs
Eddie Redmayne - The Danish Girl
Will Smith - Concussion
alt: Bryan Cranston - Trumbo
Or Michael Caine

Leading Actress - Drama:
Cate Blanchett - Carol
Brie Larson - Room
Rooney Mara - Carol
Saoirse Ronan - Brooklyn
Alicia Vikander - The Danish Girl
alt: Charlotte Rampling - 45 Years
I went with Alicia anyways. I think Charlotte will show up for the Oscars and Alicia will go back to supporting.

Directing:
Cary Fukunaga - Beasts of No Nation
Todd Haynes - Carol
Thomas McCarthy - Spotlight
George Miller - Mad Max: Fury Road
Ridley Scott - The Martian
alt: Alejandro G. Inarritu - The Revenant
Yeah, dunno. I think McCarthy and maybe Scott are safe.

Film - Comedy/Musical:
The Big Short
Joy
The Martian
Spy
Trainwreck
alt: Sisters
Yeah, they might nominate Tina and Amy's movie just because. Tangerine is also a possibility that many are overlooking. Or any other film competing in the comedy acting categories.

Film - Drama:
Beasts of No Nation
Brooklyn
Carol
The Revenant
Spotlight
alt: Mad Max: Fury Road
Or Bridge of Spies, The Hateful Eight, Steve Jobs, ugh. This is so up in the air outside of Spotlight.

Aight, I'm done. I'm gonna have a brownie.

What a crazy race! I'm loving it.
