Box: Joy To the World, The J-Law Has Come!

So, Star Wars is even more of a juggernaut than anticipated. It's at about $325m as of yesterday. By the Sunday after New Year's, it'll be at or above $700m. A $1b domestic gross might be in play, which is just utter insanity. Throw in 4 openers on Friday, plus The Big Short today and this will be a massive weekend ahead. The Hateful Eight opens in around 100 theaters before going wide New Year's Eve. The Danish Girl and Carol are also getting decent expansions.
