The bottom few slots, as you can see, are up for grabs between the failed action stars and Best Picture nominees.  Identity Thief and to a lesser extent, Side Effects will add a decent boost to theaters, before a quartet of films arrives Thursday.  All in all, over the next week and a half the box-office will get a nice shot of adrenaline.  Identity has to be the most aggressively marketed comedy in quite some time, and does have the potential of going into the 30's.  Side Effects has solid reviews, but there has been so many dark movies aimed at adults since the beginning of January it might not stand a chance of sticking out.  Further down the chart, another Best Picture nominee, Amour, will likely cross $3m.  I guess that's decent all things considered, but I can't help feel that it should have gotten a biggest Oscar boost given its surprising haul on nomination morning.
