Emma Roberts, Julia Roberts' niece and former Nancy Drew, has officially signed on to play the lead character Jill, Sidney Prescott's cousin, in Scream 4. Up until now, Roberts, 19, has mostly starred in tween and family friendly movies and TV shows and this will be her first adult role. I think she's a perfect choice. Worth noting: she was only 5 when Scream opened.
Also: Variety is reporting Hayden Panettiere is now confirmed for the film.
Production begins in June in Michigan.
