First Oscar Presenters Announced

Of course, things would slow down after the nominations. Hence my lack of update-age.

It was rumored long ago that Quentin Tarantino and Pedro Almodovar would be presenting Foreign Film together. Apparently, according to a video with the Oscar writers on YouTube, this is now confirmed. Surprisingly cool choice. In last week's Entertainment Weekly, the producers said that JK Rowling and Stephanie Meyer were asked to present Adapted Screenplay together, but passed. Thank god. I don't have a problem with Rowling as long as she was paired with Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson, but the Twilight author has no place being at the Oscars. Or anywhere prestigious.

Now, it's been confirmed that last year's "living" acting winners will return to present: Sean Penn, Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz. Is it just me or is it kinda morbid that the press release referred to them as "the three living acting winners"?????? No word on who will sub for Ledger.

And the hot piece of ass, err - I'm sorry - host for the Sci/Tech ceremony which will be held next weekend is Elizabeth Banks. I thought the delicious Miss Banks would have been an awesome choice last year, so I'm happy with this. Going back, I believe Rachel McAdams is the only host of this event who didn't appear in person during the Oscar telecast. So, most likely, add Banks to the presenter list.

Lastly, Tina Fey and Sandra Bullock have both stated at previous award shows they would be presenting. Fey was a given when taking into consideration the hosting duo.

So...

Pedro Almodovar
Elizabeth Banks
Sandra Bullock
Penelope Cruz
Tina Fey
Sean Penn
Quentin Tarantino
Kate Winslet
