Oof, that might have been the craziest these have ever been. They just issued a press release because the situation in SoCal right now. I'm thinking the Critics Choice Awards are not happening this weekend. Not that that's any kind of loss.
Lead Male - 4/5 (+alt) Just when I lost faith in Craig. Most likely the Oscar lineup. Stan is probably splitting votes.
Lead Female - 4/5 That probably ends things for Jolie, thank goodness. Probably Kidman, too. Fernanda might take Pam's place in the Oscar lineup. Might.
Supp. Male - 2/5 (+alt) They chose chaos in both supporting categories. Denzel out. I think Brutalist probably didn't screen/screener enough.
Supp. Female - 2/5 Oof. JLC made the Bafta longlist, which might not be a fluke. Deadwyler's role is SAG catnip, but she missed the Bafta list and it seems no one cares about the movie. As for Barbaro, they really love their biopics and this is pretty close to a suffering wife/girlfriend performance. Remember suffering wife roles?
Ensemble - 4/5 (+alt) Sing Sing really hasn't gotten the awards season revival people were expecting.
Very disappointed by how these groups are ignoring Furiosa. Stunts should have been an easy get.
16/25 - 64% The 2019 season was the last time I did this bad. 14/25 in 2015 was the worst.
