Top 8 = 35/43 = 81.4%
Total: 80/103 = 77.7%

That currently ties for worst top 8 score. The 2 Picture nominees missing really did me in.

I know I made fun of them, but Priyanka and Nick did a good job announcing. It was also announced that the Oscars would have 2 locations, the Dolby and Union Station. I get the feeling the top 8 category nominees will be at the Dolby and everyone else will be at Union Station. A lot of people were pushing for the Hollywood Bowl, but perhaps that wasn't feasible.

So we have 2 women in directing! 9 of the 20 acting nominees are POC. And then they leave off 2 black Picture nominees. As always, 2 steps forward and one step back. But, in all honesty, these could have been a whole lot worse.

Chloe Zhao becomes the woman with the most nominations in a single year, with 4.

Leslie Odom Jr continues the four year streak of someone getting an acting nomination AND song nomination.

There are a lot of "first"'s with these noms, so trivia-hounds should be ecstatic.

And Judas and the Black Messiah is led by two supporting actors. Seriously, that Lakeith nom is the most head-scratching, LOL moment of the morning. I would hope that it really can finally lead to some changes with regards to category fraud. Cuz Jeez. (But, hey, it prevented a Jared Leto nom!) And he becomes the third Short Term 12 Oscar-nominee. Next - Kaitlyn Dever???

STEVEN YEUN!!! Glenn the Pizza Boy is an Oscar-nominee!

Viola Davis becomes the most nominated black actress, and the first to have 2 Best Actress nominations. Glenn Close joins Amy Irving and I believe one other person - don't know who - to get an Oscar and Razzie nomination for the same performance.

Seyfriend joining McAdams as the second Mean Girl nominated! I'm so happy for her, as this was probably her only chance to get a nomination.

AND HUSAVIK!!!! THANK YOU, ELVES!!!!
