Box: Showgirls and Striptease walked so Hustlers could run

1. It: Chapter 2 - $32m / $146m / $200m
2. Hustlers - $26m / $26m / $90m
3. The Goldfinch - $7m / $7m / $20m
4. Angel Has Fallen - $3.5m / $59.5m / $66m
5. Good Boys - $3m / $72m / $77m
**The Lion King - $3m / $533.5m / $540m
7. Overcomer - $2.5m / $29m / $33m
8. Hobbs and Shaw - $2m / $167.5m / $171m

...and then it's just a bunch of movies making $1.5m, including the expanding Brittany Runs a Marathon. It: Chapter 2 did exactly what I predicted last weekend, which didn't stop some from declaring it a disappointment. It's going to have a steep drop-off from part 1, but I expected it. Still hugely profitable. Hustlers will be the big story this weekend, and based off early ticket sales might have a shot for #1. Reviews are great, and the buzz for Lopez is big. Also opening is the adaptation of the bestseller, The Goldfinch, but that will struggle to break out of single digits.
