Watch the Oscars!

The 89th Academy Awards air live on ABC at 8:30PM Eastern Sunday February 26th. They will be preceded by a red carpet special beginning at 7PM. E! will be doing coverage starting at 1:30PM Eastern. So, if you really want to watch D-list reality stars play La La Land Tic-Tac-Toe for half an hour, knock yourself out.

Jimmy Kimmel makes his debut as host. He previously hosted the Emmys twice, the latter of which occurred last year and was considered a critical success. He is known for his late night show, of which an episode aired following the Oscars for the past several years. He is also know for his long running feud with Matt Damon, which will probably be addressed at some point during the show.

Last year's acting winners Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Mark Rylance and Alicia Vikander will return to present. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Bonnie and Clyde, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway will present a major award. Also taking the stage to present will be Amy Adams, Riz Ahmed, Jennifer Aniston, Javier Bardem, Jason Bateman, Gael García Bernal, Halle Berry, Sofia Boutella, John Cho, Matt Damon, Jamie Dornan, Chris Evans, Michael J. Fox, Ryan Gosling, Salma Hayek, Taraji P. Henson, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Dakota Johnson, Dwayne Johnson, Felicity Jones, Shirley MacLaine, Leslie Mann, Kate McKinnon, Janelle Monáe, David Oyelowo, Dev Patel, Seth Rogen, Octavia Spencer, Hailee Steinfeld, Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, Charlize Theron, and Vince Vaughn.

Jamie and Dakota get ready for some real punishment.
Scheduled to perform the five nominated songs are John Legend, Sting, Justin Timberlake, and Lin-Manuel Miranda and Auli'i Cravalho. Sara Bareilles will perform during the In Memoriam segment.

Some recent news:
Natalie Portman will not be attending the ceremony. She is very pregnant and likely due any day.
One of the nominees for Best Sound Mixing for 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Greg P. Russell, had his nomination rescinded after it was discovered he did some inappropriate campaigning.
At this point, several nominees are not allowed into the US due to the current Muslim Ban. Expect whoever wins Foreign Film to address this.

Given the current climate, this should be an interesting show.

Enjoy it, everyone!
